Zhinan Village, Lin'an City

Zhinan is a 2,000-year-old village tucked away in a mountainous area of western Hangzhou. The village has cultivated more than 300 ancient red maple trees over the years. In late autumn, the leaves of gingko trees change to yellow, and that of maple trees to red, which create the impression of “raging flames engulfing the village.” This forms a sharp contrast to the architecture, which is composed of whitewashed walls and black tiles. Photographers flock to Zhinan Village in the fall to shoot the autumn landscape. 
Zhinan Village, located in the Taohuyuan Town, Lin'an City, is the first station to trace the source of Taihu Lake. There is a pond of clear water at the entrance of the village, a bit like the square pond of Hong Village. Every autumn, the ginkgo leaves cover the whole mountain, silhouetting against the village among mist and smoke, the shady trees reflect in the pond, the white cranes lightly pull the green water, children are frolicking around the pond, and women wash clothes at the bank, all of which were filled with a quality suggestive of poetry or painting.
The ginkgo grows either in single line or in groups. Especially in the early morning or the setting sun, the sun shines through the golden leaves, as if it is another world.

- Transportation：Self-driving travel: drive along Hangzhou Ring Highway, enter into Hanghui (Hangzhou-Huizhou) Highway at Liuxia and leave from Lin’an Exit. Then drive straight along Provincial Highway 13 towards Taihuyuan Scenic Area. Independent travel: take coach at Hangzhou West Coach Station and get off at Lin’an (about 35 minutes). Then go to Xishu Street and take No.16 bus. Get off at the fork of Zhinan Village. Walk along the mountain path for about 20 minutes.
