Hangzhou Wetland Botanic Garden
Covering an area of 55 hectares, Hangzhou Wetland Botanic Garden focuses on the exhibition of the wetland plants, part of Xixi’s characteristics ecological diversity including dike-pond system and river shoal, and the collection, planting and exhibition of aquatic plants and wetland plants nationwide. Its main functions include leisure touring, scientific research and science popularization education, matching demonstration and introduction as well as breeding of aquatic plants. There’re now over 600 kinds of wetland plants in the garden, including over 100 kinds of trees, near 250 kinds of wetland shrubs and ground covers, over 150 kinds of emergent aquatic plants, over 30 kinds of floating plants, over 50 kinds of floating-leaved plants and over 30 kinds of submerged plants. An underwater ecological sightseeing corridor is set inside the garden. With a length of 137m, it is the longest outdoor underwater ecological sightseeing corridor in China at present.
