Tianmu Mountain has large Cryptomeria fortunei community rarely seen in the world, among which over 500 of them are more than 500 years old. These trees are mainly growing in the area between Five Li Pavilion and Original Temple of Lion Sect. 19 of them have a DBH of over 2m. 36 of them have a DBH of over 1.8m. 398 of them have a DBH of over 1m. And thousands of them have a DBH of less than 1m. Among all the trees, Tree King, an honored name presented by Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty, is the most famous one.

Over hundreds of years, Tree King has become a famous natural and cultural landscape in Tianmu Mountain. There is even a saying about it: “One who misses Tree King in Tianmu Mountain actually wastes the whole journey”.
