In June of 1929, Hangzhou established the first session of West Lake Exposition. After suspension due to some reasons for 70 years, in 2000, it reverted to be held every year. During exhibition, it usually promotes more than 100 conventions and exhibitions with different topics every year. It is one of iconic events of annual economic culture of Hangzhou.
West Lake Exposition Museum, located in No.41-42 Beishan Road of Hangzhou, based on the main industrial hall of the first session of West Lake Exposition in 1929, is established after repair and reconstruction. The exhibition hall, facing lake and against mountain, echoes with Bai Causeway at a distance, covering an area of 2,350m² and showing a shape in rectangular-ambulatory-plane. The West Lake Exposition Museum after repair not only, in terms of design, keeps the appearance of historical building but also, in terms of internal structure, maintains the basic appearance featuring the herringbone wooden truss of original building.
