Sicheng Church
The oldest Christian church in Hangzhou, Sicheng Church is located at 132 Jiefang Road. Designed in the shape of a cross, it was built in 1927 to commemorate Zhang Chengzhai, the first Chinese pastor. Its prominent eaves and window lattices are reminiscent of traditional Chinese gardens. This combination of Chinese and Western architecture is unique for Chinese churches. It reflects the integration of Christian and Chinese cultures in Hangzhou. 
Si-Cheng Church is a three-storey cross-shaped architecture built with bricks and woods. The masonry walls, corniced roofs and delicate wooden ornaments endow the church with both western Christian church characteristics and traditional Chinese features. Except for the Sunday Worship, there are also youth gathering, sermon and prayer meeting, homily class as well as chapel choir practice every week. For the convenience of overseas Christians, there is “English Worship” after the morning worship on Sundays attended by foreign professors and overseas students in Hangzhou. Besides, Si-Cheng Church also offers services such as wedding service and memorial service to the followers, and holds baptism each August.
A stone tablet based on white marble, which is call “Stone for All Ages”, is still embedded in the grey brick wall nowadays at the southeast corner, silently witnessing the history of Si-Cheng Church.

Turn right and walk along Zhonghe Road (Mid) for 390m. Turn left and walk along Jiefang Road for 120m. Then you will arrive at Si-Cheng Church. The whole walk is about 1.2km in length.
