In Hangzhou, there is a special city round table which is open to everyone in Hangzhou. In 20th December, 2010, the communication and talk television programme Our Round Table Meeting was officially premiered in the general channel of Hangzhou Television Station. The subject terms of the column are “We, Communication, Understand”. Aiming at the common concerned topic of city, the programme invites representatives of different fields in society including experts, officials and citizens, etc. to gather in the same “table” to have equal dialogue and joint participation. The big round table under the projector lamp has become an important platform for Hangzhou to gather people’s wisdom and will, promote rational communication, facilitate democracy and people’s livelihood and practice scientific development.
