Zhejiang Conservatory of Music

The Zhejiang Conservatory of Music is the first four-year college of music in Zhejiang Province, and China’s tenth independent music academy. It is located in Xiangshan, near Hangzhou’s West Lake District and neighbor to the Xiangshan campus of the China Academy of Art. It was established in 2016. Its motto is “Strive for the best in all things.”

Zhejiang Conservatory of Music is a public full-time regular four-year college founded with approval on 1st March, 2016, focusing on undergraduate education, and meanwhile undertakes postgraduate education tasks. It is run by Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government and is in charge of Provincial Department of Culture.

The campus is located in Zhijiang, West Lake District of Hangzhou with an area of 350,000m². The conservatory, taking Music Conservatory of Hangzhou Normal University as subjective preparation basis, constructs specialized discipline system according to 3 first-level disciplines including musicology and dancology, dramatic and film television study and artistic theory. For the first batch of specialty, 5 specialties including composing and composing technique theories, musicology, musical performance, dancology and dance performance are proposed to set up.

Zhejiang Conservatory of Music adheres to the spirit of “School songs” initiated by Mr. LI Shutong, taking “Do utmost to achieve the best” as school motto and through high starting point design, high-standard construction and high-level school running, makes an effort to make contributions to economic and social development of Zhejiang.
